If I talk controversy maybe someone will listen
If I talk a little, maybe someone will think
If I make corrections, someone might notice the difference
And if I make connections, somebody might make the link

If I’m in a cave, a slave to shadows on the wall

To see the world behind me
Those glaring lights that blind me
Would they really find me, learning anew at all

If I can still hope, maybe someone’s realistic
If I stand up, maybe someone will walk
If I think, maybe someone can fix it
And if I listen, maybe somebody will talk

If I’m let out, without a cave to hold me down
With open eyes, realize what is around
Go back to tell the story
But what if they ignore me
And leave them hiding poorly, staying on the ground

If I ramble, someone might just change gears
If I’m blind the sun won’t tell me I’m wrong
If I scream, someone might cover their ears
And if I whisper, somebody might hear the song
